Joey Chestnut won the TripRewards Ultimate Hot Wing Eating Championship held in New York's Grand Central Terminal today and goes home with one million TripRewards points.
Chestnut ate 7.05 lbs of wings, a new world record and a pound more than second place finisher Sonya Thomas who consumed 6.01 lbs of hot wings. Eater X placed third with 5.381 pounds.
At the conclusion of the event fans rushed the stage seeking autographs and photos with the stars of Major League Eating. Wing Kong, Crazy Legs and Steakbellie were among the greats assembled in historic Vanderbilt Hall.
During the event, M.C. George Shea unveiled an idea for a reality show called 'Left World.'
