Louisiana Downs World Grits Eating Championship

Location: Bossier City, LA
Date: 09-29-2007
Winner: Patrick Bertoletti

Grits have long been a desirable discipline for Major League Eaters. With its mild flavor and quick-to-swallow consistency, we're expecting some big numbers from the pro's.

Patrick Bertoletti won the Lousiana Downs World Grits Eating Championship by eating 21 pounds of grits in 10 minutes. Tim Janus placed second with 20 pounds and in third was Joey Chestnut with 19.

Sonya Thomas placed a close fourth with 18.5 pounds. Hall Hunt came in fifth with 15 pounds.

This was capacity benchmarking that would make Polly Holiday blush.
