National Sweet Corn Eating Championship

Last year Crazy Legs Conti shocked the world by breaking the sweet corn record and beating out his arch-rival Jammin' Joe LaRue and an impressive cast of gurgitators including Chip Simpson, Hall Hunt and Justin Mih. 34.5 ears is the new benchmark for 2008, and it is no easy feat. Can Conti retain his hard-won title, or will Jammin' Joe take it back for his own pride and the glory of the great state of Florida?

April 27 will mark the 8th Annual Sweet Corn Fiesta in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Palm Beach County farmers cultivate over 27,000 acres of delicious sweet corn every year. No other community comes close.
