The 3rd Annual Broadway at the Beach Ultimate Eating Tournament took place during the Taste of Broadway Spring Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday, April 23, 2005.
Atlanta's Dale Boone successfully defended his tournament championship, his first appearance since the Thanksgiving Invitational.
The Myrtle Beach event consisted of three elimination rounds and a final head-to-head contest with a variety of foods from top area restaurants including: Key West Grill, Johnny Rockets, Amici’s and Goodberry's Frozen Custard.
The contest occurred in a steeplechase format, featuring two-minute rounds with a range of items from shrimp to chicken wings.
Boone had an impressive run last fall, posting a string of baked bean wins and cementing his place in history as one of the best baked bean eaters of 2004.
