In 2007, a capacity record was broken at Harrah's Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, LA. Pat Bertoletti of Chicago ate 21 lbs of grits in 10 minutes--the highest weight ever to be consumed in competition. Bertoletti was followed directly by Tim Janus, with 20 lbs, and Joey Chestnut with 19.

Can lightning strike twice? Can these feats could be repeated? The nation will find out on Saturday, September 13 at the 2nd Annual Harrah's Louisiana Downs World Grits Eating Championship.
