National Sweet Corn Eating Championship

Jammin' Joe LaRue saw his hand raised in competition for the first time since 2006 at the Sweet Corn Fiesta in West Palm Beach, FL. LaRue, always one to hold the National Sweet Corn Eating Championship dear to his heart, claimed the title in stunning fashion eating 46 ears of Sweet Corn in 12 minutes to shatter the previous record of 34.75 held by Crazy Legs Conti.

Crazy Legs, competing at Sweet Corn Fiesta a day after competing at Stockton's Asparagus Fest, finished in second place with 41 ears - a personal best.

In third place was a newcomer to the MLE Circuit and perhaps one to watch in Sean "Wrecking Ball" Brockert. The Jupiter, FL native ate an impressive 28 ears of corn in his debut and looks to continue the hot start at the La Costena "Feel the Heat" Jalapeno Eating Challenge in San Antonio on May 2nd.
