Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas will look to make it four straight years of sweeping the competition at the National Buffalo Wing Festival. "Wing King" Drew Cerza's annual buffalo wing celebration will take place over Labor Day weekend and Major League Eating will be there to headline the festivities.
On Sunday, Sept. 5, the prestigious title of U.S. Buffalo Wing Eating Champion will be awarded to a special Major League Eater. The 12-minute competition will see buffalo wing after buffalo wing devoured quicker than the eye can follow. A total cash purse of $2,550 will be spread out among the top three finishers: $1,500 to the winner, $750 to second place and $300 to third place.
The pressure has mounted each year since Sonya Thomas first swept the National Buffalo Wing Festival Weekend three years ago. The world will wait and see if she can make it 8 straight wins in Buffalo over Labor Day Weekend!
Rumors that Badlands Booker will hold his first-ever concert on Saturday evening at the festival. More details will be provided once this news is confirmed.
The National Buffalo Wing Festival will take place on Labor Day Weekend (Sept 4-5) at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY. Part of the proceeds for the festival go to benefit Western New York charities, raising more than $125,000 over the festival's history.
