The Midway Slots World Crabcake Eating Championship was held on August 21, 2005, on the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, DE.
Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas won the event with tremendous 40 crabcakes in 12 minutes for the win. Not far behind, in second place with 38 crabcakes, was San Jose's Joey Chestnut.
Coming in third place with 32 three-ounce crab cakes in 12 minutes, Tim Janus.
"The last two minutes defined this event," says Castellano. "Never walk away from the slots you've been feeding for ten minutes, throw a few more coins in and you may just hit the money."
