The 2005 Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship circuit continued in Savannah, GA, on October 30 at the Coastal Empire Fair.
Kudos go to Ron "Hizzoner" Koch who put down an impressive 36 Krystals to join the Las Vegas eating royalty. Ron will be in Chatty come November 19 and other eaters will feel his presence come gametime. Other eaters will sweat Ron. Other eaters know they're dealing with a force.
It was a tie for second place as doggedly determined Hall Hunt downs 26 Krystals but is matched by a fellow Floridian in the last Georgia Square Off of the 2005 season.
The winner of each regional qualifier will earn one of the coveted seats at the world championship final table on Nov. 19, 2005, in Chattanooga, Tenn., where they will compete for a share of the $22,500 cash purse.
