This year's event will once again take place at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. Eaters from far and wide are warmly encouraged to sign up for the chance to compete in this delicious taste of the start of summer. At the inaugural 2017 Championship, Joey Chestnut, the #1-ranked eater in the world, edged then-world #2 Matthew Stonie in a thrilling overtime win. Chestnut is expected to return to San Diego this year to defend his Baked Bear World Ice-Cream Sandwich Eating Championship title.
