Chinook Winds Rib Championship

07-07-2004

Will Cookie Jarvis return to defend his title?

This is the question on the lips of competitive eaters throughout the United States as the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, OR, prepares for the World Rib Eating Championshiop on Saturday, July 17th, 2004. A total of $2,500 in prize money is on the table.

The rib, considered perhaps the most prestigious of the debris foods next to the chicken wing, is expected to challenge even the most seasoned IFOCE gurgitators.

The 2003 Chinook Winds World Rib Eating Championship was won by IFOCE superstar Ed ‘Cookie’ Jarvis, who devoured 4.65 lbs of rib meat in 12 minutes. Jarvis, fresh off his solid performance at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, NY, has not yet decided if he will travel to Lincoln City to defend his title.

This is an IFOCE event and the IFOCE will handle all registration -- spots are still open. Interested parties should email ribs@ifoce.com or call 212.627.5766 for more information.
