Mellon Melee Approaches

Eaters are eagerly anticipating “Swellin’ with Mellon” at the annual Brookville Community Picnic in Brookville, Ohio, on Saturday, July 24, 2004. This 15-minute picnic-style classic is the first-ever officially sanctioned watermelon-eating contest.

The 54th annual Brookville Community Picnic, which runs from Thursday, July 22 to Saturday, July 24.

The IFOCE will handle all registration -- there are still spots open. Those interested in competing, who are 18 years and over, can email melon@ifoce.com or call (212) 627-5766 to register for the contest.

The contest is sponsored by DG Equipment Company, Inc., Brookville Roadster, New Lebanon Body, Frame & Tech, Red Baron Towing, and Brookhaven Lifecare Community. The Brookville Chamber of Commerce is organizing the Community Picnic.
