Winchell's Donuts at OC Fair

07-09-2004

Santa Ana, CA, July 9, 2004 – Jammin' Joe LaRue, Don Moses Lerman, and Ray Meduna will compete at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, CA on Saturday, July 10, 2004, the second stop of the Winchell’s World Donut Eating Championship circuit.

At stake is $500 in prize money, a full travel and lodging package for the championship event, and the prestigious title of Orange County Fair Donut Eating Champion. The top three finishers will be guaranteed a spot in the Winchell's World Donut Eating Championship at the Los Angeles County Fair in September, where $1,500 will go to the winner.

The current world donut-eating record is Jalapeno Jed Donahue, who consumed 31 donuts in eight minutes. That record, however, will be challenged by a top field of gurgitators at the Orange County contest.

This is an IFOCE event and the IFOCE will handle all registration. Those interested who are 18 years and over can email donuts@ifoce.com or call (212) 627-5766 to register.
