Meatballs at the Tropicana in Atlantic City

The Tropicana Casino and Resort will host the Tropicana World Meatball-Eating Championship in Atlantic City, NJ, on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004. A total of $5,000 in prize money will be awarded: $2,500 for first place; $1,250 for second place; $750 for third place; and $500 for fourth place.

The contest, which will be held in The Quarter, just outside of Carmine's Restaurant at 1:00 PM, will feature a slew of top eaters, including Hungry Charles Hardy, Badlands Booker, Cookie Jarvis, Carlene LeFevre, Sonya Thomas, Rich LeFevre, Allen Goldstein, Don Lerman, Tim Janus, Brian Seiken, Brian Subich and Bob Shoudt among others.

Eaters will have 12 minutes to consume as many of the ping pong ball-sized meatballs as possible. Carmine’s restaurant will cook the Italian style meatballs. The event will be featured as part of the INHD Tour de Gorge series.

This Fall, Tropicana Casino and Resort will debut The Quarter at Tropicana.
