Bertoletti Takes Key Lime Pie-Eating Contest

Patrick Bertoletti continues his amazing eating juggernaut, downing 10.8 pounds of Key Lime Pie in eight minutes to win the World Key Lime Pie-Eating Championship, which falls under the World Series of Competitive Eating.

The event, which took place at the Spinnaker Beach Club in Panama City, FL, served as a platform for Bertoletti, a rising young star who has emerged (along with Joey Chesnut) as a serious threat to Sonya Thomas' eating hegemony.

Bertoletti earned $1,500 for his effort while Tim Janus consumed 10.2 lbs of pie to earn $750. Eric Broe ate 7.8 lbs to earn $250. Broe won the collegiate key lime pie challenge yesterday earning $600.

Hall Hunt came in 4th and Crazy Legs Conti 5th, both out of the money.
