Great news, people! The Tivoli Fest World Æbleskiver Eating Championship returns to Major League Eating’s slate of sanctioned, and frankly delicious, contests for its third annual installment. Once more, Major League Eaters from near and far will head to Elk Horn, IA—the spiritual home of competitive æbleskiver consumption—to challenge themselves.
For those with a below-par appreciation for the many delights of Danish cuisine, the æbleskiver is best described as a round puff pancake. The name translates to "apple slices," of course, but apple is but rarely used in modern examples of this fine dessert snack. The æbleskiver is delicious, or lækker, if you prefer.
At the 2018 Championship, Geoffrey Esper ate 107 æbleskivers in eight minutes to set a new world record in the discipline. He was, as you may expect from the man, composed, smooth, consistent and relentless. It was a thing to behold.
Do you dare attempt to eat 108 æbleskivers in eight minutes? Maybe more? Probably less, but that’s okay, too. Or do you simply want to see the best in the world do what they do so well? This is The Third Annual Tivoli Fest World Æbleskiver Eating Championship! At the table or in the crowd—don't you ever miss it!

ABOUT TIVOLI FEST! Tivoli Fest is the annual Danish American festival in the Danish Village of Elk Horn, Iowa, the largest Danish rural settlement in the USA. It is a celebration of Danish American culture, traditions and foods.
